Our first walk sponsor - Henry’s Bakehouse at Woodchester
We're thrilled to share some very special news: Henry's Bakehouse Cafe has become Roam & Wonder Foundation CIC's very first walk sponsor and we couldn't have picked a more fitting business to kick things off with.
If you've walked with us before, chances are you already know Henry's. From the very beginning, our groups have finished or stopped off along the way at both Henry's Bakehouse Cafe in Minchinhampton and Henry's at Woodchester, long before Roam & Wonder was even a registered social enterprise. Whether it's ten of us or forty of us bundling through the door, muddy boots and all, Henry's has always welcomed us with open arms and friendly faces. So when we started exploring sponsorship as a way to keep our walks free for everyone, there was only one business we wanted to ask first.
Who are Henry's?
Henry's Bakehouse Cafe is an independent business with a passion for serving simple, honest food made using quality local ingredients wherever possible. Alongside artisan coffee from Ritual Coffee Roasters, homemade bakes and all-day brunches, Henry's strives to create warm, welcoming spaces that bring people together and celebrate the local community - something we deeply understand and value ourselves.
SIMPLE • HONEST • GOODNESS
Henry's Bakehouse Cafe, Minchinhampton is the original home of Henry's - a firm favourite for walkers refuelling after a route through the Minch area.
Henry's @ Woodchester, inside Woodchester Mansion's grounds, has become just as loved. Open 11am–5pm on Mansion open days (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays), it's the perfect stop after exploring the park and you don't even need to visit the Mansion itself to enjoy a coffee and cake here. Expect local Ritual Coffee, milk from Berkeley Organic Dairy Farm (plus plant-based options), hearty breakfasts, light lunches, and a well-earned cider, beer from Stroud Brewery, or a glass of Woodchester Valley Vineyard wine if you fancy it. There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options too and yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome in the café!
More than just great coffee
Henry's support for the local community doesn't stop at the café doors. They're proud sponsors of Minchinhampton Rangers Girls Youth FC, and also support Minchinhampton Youth Cricket Club, Horsfall House, and a number of other local clubs and community events. Supporting young people, grassroots sport, and the wider community is something they clearly take real pride in and it's exactly the kind of local spirit that makes Roam & Wonder possible too.
Why this matters
Roam & Wonder Foundation CIC exists because we believe everyone should be able to get outside, get moving, and connect with their community, regardless of ability, budget, or background. Our walks are, and always will be, completely free. To make that sustainable, we're building relationships with local businesses and organisations who believe in what we're doing, just as much as we believe in them.
We're creating social impact and you can too!
Henry's is our very first sponsor, and we couldn't be more grateful. A huge thank you to Julia and Henry for backing us from the very start - first as a friendly face at the end of a long walk, and now as an official partner in keeping Roam & Wonder free and accessible to all.
Want to get involved?
If you're a local business or organisation who'd love to support our mission - helping us continue to provide free walks, reduce isolation, and promote physical and mental wellbeing across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, we'd love to hear from you. Get in touch to find out more about walk sponsorship and how you could be featured just like Henry's, and create your own social value along the way.
